In the process of dreaming about my future and while staring at the picture posted in my pod, I have already started fantasizing about potential fits and what not for my Damnation field command ship, Al Abd. Come on, admit it. You have all tried fits for ships you can’t yet fly. It’s the dirty little secret/Pandora’s Box that EFT and EVEHQ when they become prevalent. Armchair capital pilots everywhere are fitting out their supercaps to do battle in their minds eye. So skipping the reverie and amorphous thoughts about what might have been, I managed to cobble together the following [mind the Tool Tips].

  • [Low Slots]
    • Damage Control II
    • Armor Thermic Hardener II

Bah – this whole post too long to format. Nearly twice as long as dreaming up the fitting that I am sure I will iterate through at least another thirty times. Are you not entertained? Ten million to the first comment that collects all the eggs.

Just a thought, why 4 cap rechargers, is that for the RR? The Damnation is a hell of a tank to be sure…I just have not seen on RR before is all. :) BTW I thought your layout familiar… BFA FTW

Yeah! I love the BFA layout. The first time I saw the Mule I thought, here’s a pilot with good taste! I’ve used it a couple of different times over the years, but have always managed to modify it quite a bit along the way. Most of the PHP that I’ve learned was just from pushing around the layout. I still have other things I want to do, but haven’t really found the time.

As for the cap rechargers, they are mainly for supporting the RR. Though if I’m the one being relied on for the RR, then there likely is another problem. I could go without and use a booster, but being out in the wormhole, I’d prefer to reduce the amount of ammo that I have to carry if possible. Maybe I’ll even train to actually put lasers on an Amarr ship. Wouldn’t that be novel?

Along the way a corp-mate and I will likely also pick up a pair of Guardians to free up our other friends to lay the smack down; however, we would still like to be a bit more involved in the action. So the Damnations are our compromise. Missile boat + RR + wicked fleet bonus + some moderate DPS to get in on the fight. We considered the Nighthawk, but discarded for lack of place in a RR armor fleet. The Drakes do ok, but usually end up as a separate squad due to their low cap and again, non-armor [though we will throw on a gang-link] just to feel like part of the team.

Bah this turning into another post. :)

Going with a “similar” fit to yours, but trying for more tank, keeping it T2 or named –

Hey, thanks for the thoughts. A couple of related thoughts, though I’m away from any computer with fitting calculators on it. This is a great fit for a RR gang going out for a roam I think – though maybe a MWD would be better if it could be shoehorned in. Since this is primarily going to be pressed into service against sleepers, I opted to make a few sacrifices:

    1. Opted out of the plates to free up slots for a couple weapon upgrades. Was hoping to err on the side of gank, but not completely obliterate the tank.
    2. Opted for missile range rigs to at least try and stay with the gang [and in range {one or the other will likely give}]. The new medium rigs mean it’s less painful to replace them down the road if we move out of WH space.
    3. I have the XT-2800 HAM launchers from a decommissioned Caracal. Arby’s would definitely be an improvement.
    4. Opted out of distrupter for sleepers and the pressing need for capacitor.
    5. Ditto for the AB and web.
    6. The TP is something that I keep waffling on.

As a [til now] Caldari pilot, my drone skills are lacking. For the foreseeable future, Hob II’s will be a delayed addition. This is definitely a consideration.

Finally, for the pseudo-PVE of wormhole space, the cap stability is more important right now. In an all out firefight, it becomes less of a factor, and would like just go bye bye in favor of the aforementioned PvP trio.
