Drakes Done Again

In complement to Penny’s post about Drake fittings and changes, I thought I would post my own fit about how I have been flying it for maximum possible tanking. It currently tanks about 736 dps and it capacitor stable. There are other fittings that are also cap-stable with higher resists, but much lower dps tanks that I’m curious to try as well. I’ve dropped the Caldari Navy Launchers for the WH as I’m none to keen on replacing them.

High Slots:

7x Caldari Navy Heavy Missile Launcher (Scourge Heavy Missile)

Mid Slots:

Heat Dissipation Amplifier II
Magnetic Scattering Amplifier II
Invulnerability Field II
3x Large Shield Extender II

Low Slots:

4x Shield Power Relay II

Rigs:

3x Core Defence Field Purger I

Drones:

5x Hobgoblin I

That looks almost impenetrable, and is really impressive. I’ll have to see if I can squeeze another extender on to my Drake, even if it means redrafting yet another fittings post.

hmm looking at that I see the following things:

    1) your sig radius is huge at 445M
    2) I see your DPS resists between 690 (Caladri state) to 724 (Amarr empire) your em/them numbers and mine are a bit off not by a huge amount but enough for the difference…
    3) you might also mention that aside form sig radius the cost for this is close to 100M ( including the rigs)
    4) your speed is a vulnerability at 175 m/s
Still… looks like a highly effective build against sleeper damage if not others. a highly effective bait ship as well.

@Penny: If we didn’t post more thoughts about all the changes we make to our fittings, we might run out of things to talk about. *ha ha ha*

    @Manasi:
    1) Yep – but most passive shield tanks are.
    2) :)
    3) If you drop the launchers, that cuts the cost quite a bit. Personally I built all the rigs, but cost definitely is a factor as well.
    4) Speed and Caldari don’t generally go together too well. It can keep up with most battleships and with the range of heavy missiles, doesn’t generally need to move too much to hit things.

Other things that help are faction missiles [and T2 at some point] and improved drones.
