Ok, I admit it. I am in awe, struck dumb by the sheer enormity of what has transpired. In case any of you missed it:
Dominion has come.
And it is good. At least every little bit that I have seen from with in our little part of the unknown space we live in. With all the little things that have happened in the client, it really does feel a lot like EVE 3.0 instead of just an expansion. The marketers missed the opportunity to really push this as a major update to many of the parts that make EVE feel like EVE. With all of the updates to the UI as well as the actual graphics used for the systems, it is much more apparent that things have changed. And after one measly day in, I think it’s wonderful.
I’m sure there are a lot of little things going on around 0.0 involving sovereignty changes and support/logistics for them. There are some nitpicks, glitches and annoyances [hide windows?], but on the whole, I think it is a great update.
And finally – I can easily update this from inside my pod. Beware.

ctrl+f9 for hiding windows now…. it makes it a bit harder for quickly dropping them during a battle for a screenshot, but perhaps it’s made up for by the ability to ctrl+tab through windows…. not sure about it… there’s a cycling issue with the ctrl+tab so that it doesn’t quite work like windows alt+tab which is annoying…
kind of a bit of a bug I guess with the mail where to execute a command on a mail (add/remove lables, delete etc) you need to left click on it first, then right click… pain in the butt, but it should get ironed out I guess.

No worries. Thanks for the heads up on the control-F9, that had been in use as a drone command.
The mail does take some getting used to.
The first planet I warped to in J130554 was boring, which was disappointing. But as I only popped in for five minutes it’s probably not a fair summary of the changes.
And I’ve always used Ctrl-F9 to clear the UI. Was I missing something before?
Apparently that is the way it was supposed to happen. I just didn’t know. I always just used the ctrl-tab to hide windows.
Planet III in J130554 is a massive lava world that I can’t get far enough away from to even get a good shot of. That’s on my list of things to take care of.
